Hi

Just a quick question. I have 2 ntl cable points in the house, 1 upstairs & 1 downstairs. If I get an additional modem, can I run them both at the same time? I'm thinkking for xbox live downstairs & my PC upstairs rather than have to fanny on with setting up a wireless network.

Ta.

Not without registering (and paying) for it, and i'm not even sure they will allow you to have two modems on your bill.

OK, cheers.

I'm sure my dad said he had a spare wireless router knocking about.... ;)

No, that won't work. The modem MAC addresses need to be registered with NTL and they won't allow more than 1 per household

I think they can/do allow more than one per household (address) at times, but on different accounts ;)

As werewolf says, you can of course run seperate modems, but obviously, it's a bit dodgy as you can technically only have one acount per household. However, technically it is possible. I know of people who have and do still do it, but the legalities are border line which is not where we shall venture.
