Using 2 PCI sata cards in one pc

am building a file server pc with an old athlon setup which has no sata ports and unfortunately I have 4 sata drives.

Have seen 4x sata controller cards selling for almost £70 so am wondering if its possible to use two x 2sata port controller cards.

Would appreciate some help on this one or a better solution.

If you have the space, why not...... its just 2 PCI devices...

Shouldnt be a problem.

My concern is that they will conflict with each other and system will be unsure which drive to boot from.
