Hi there,

Just a quicky. Is it easy/possible to run 3 monitors on XP?

Current rig is due an upgrade but that wont be for a few months yet so stuck with my XP rig till then but want to throw another U2311H on the desk so wondered if I'll run into any problems with XP and a 3 display config.

Thanks,

Rik

With XP specifically? No, not a problem.

However, keep in mind what goes for Vista and 7 as well. A triple system isn't as simple as a dual setup when it comes to the pre-requirements.

With an AMD 5xxx series or later card hook it up to the display port, if the card lacks display ports it's not going to work.

With NVIDIA.. you need either a GTX590 or a second card. With XP (and 7, but not vista) the second card can be either an AMD or NVIDIA card. With Vista the secondary card needs to be an NVIDIA card as well as it wont let you install both AMD and NVIDIA drivers simultaneously.

So basically if you don't have a video card that can do it yet, get a cheap second one or an AMD 5xxx+ with displayport (6xxx/7xxx should be fine as well).
