Hi, Just had a thought after seeing a 4K TV on offer (LG 42UB820V)

Has anyone got experience with using one as a monitor?, Id be using it mainly for media consumption, browsing, 3d CAD applications, gaming (racing sims, fps and few other genres), maybe a bit of netflix and youtube etc.

Only things I was worried about was input lag and having to run some games at 1080p (just wondering how 1080p would look like on a 4k panel). My only other TV option is a decent 1080p TV with low input lag like one of the sonys

Apart from that id be looking at a new monitor then.

It would be pretty weak for the stuff you're looking at, nor is that TV in particular anything to write home about anyway. And 4K content is still scarce and likely will remain so for a few years yet. Atm you go 4K for either work or gaming, and TVs are pretty bad for both.

Thanks for the input guys, pretty much close to what I was thinking, just got a bit caught up in the low prices I guess, been avoiding TV's in general because of input lag and gaming in 4k was gonna require a hefty gpu. Looks like I'm going for a new monitor then...:D

sony's 4k screens are coming out real soon in europe
the cheaper ones i think is the X8 model?
they look just like the W series which i love, no idea on response times yet tho

hoping they good >.<

panasonic TX-50AX802B is a VA panel so he could go for something like the Philips BDM4065UC 40" 4K 60Hz Widescreen LED Monitor which as lower input lag than the panasonic TX-50AX802B
