Using a faulty card for SLI?

On the road....
I have been offered a 1080ti for £150(!) the catch is it has no output from any of the ports on the back of the card it appears to work when using a second screen running off the on board graphics (the fans quickly spool up if you run Furmark for example) it shows up in device manager (which thinks its working correctly) I’m interested in using it as a second card in SLI, my existing card would run my 4K screen as it currently does.

The card is sold as seen and a fair distance from me, although from someone I’ve known albeit via a forum for about 10 years.
I’m minded to pass but equally somewhat tempted....

Thoughts?

I would pass as SLI support is limited and the card would have practically no resale value.

If you really want to do SLI get a fully working 1080 Ti secondhand and sell on when you are done.

If a card is already partially broken it could totally fail at any time.

I hear you (although my previous 1070 SLI setup worked great with the vast majority of the games I play)

I think unless he drops the price markedly I’ll most likely pass.

I'd have to concur. However tempting that sounds, it's a £150 gamble for something that could either die any minute or wouldn't be recognised in SLI.
