Having to set something up in work.

Most of the plasma tvs we are looking to buy for a display board/TV seem to have 1366x768 as their HD resolution but only support 1024x768 as their PC resolution.

Is there anyway to get them to display the full resolution?

Not sure about plasmas but I used my 37" LCD as a monitor for a while. You can use a lower res but you just have black space round your desktop. As far as connectors go get a dvi to HDMI is your telly has an HDMI port as its really sharp for text and makes the d-sub look awful.

Avoid plasma like the plague if you want to mainly use it as a monitor. They not only have lower resolutions but often awkward ones that don't work with PC's in the proper aspect ratio, they suffer from screen burn and use a lot more power.

It really depends on the TV, most of the time d-sub is better than hdmi as it offers 1:1 pixel mapping, only 1080p's usually do this over hdmi.
