right this is a bit weird to explain so bare with me.

using a macbook with the large track pad mouse thing, ie no buttons, and using the latest version of snow leopard, how can i - using the mouse only - open a page in a new tab in safari, just like middle mouse button does on a windows pc using a traditional hand held mouse ?

sorry for the over complicated explination, its a hard one to explain when drunk and try a macbook for the first time.

Also - it just underlined explination, - there it goes again - as i have spelt it wrong, how to i using the mouse / mouse and keyboard click that underlined word to correct it?

macbooks are complicated!

When you middle click a link it opens the page in a new tab - He wants to know how to do that using the Macbook trackpad.

i mean a link on a page like if i clicked on your name, which would open your profile, and i want to open it in a new tab

without touching the keyboard - can i not do it one handed, like three fingers click or something

I don't think so. Not that I know anyway. Unless you set secondary click in system preferences / trackpad. Which will give you a right click menu with the option to open in a new window or tab.

do you not find on a macbook (i'm using an air right now) that in a natural hand position your little finger is really close to the cmd key so you can can just do cmd click very easily anyway? I do it without thinking...
