Using a Megadrive with a SNES power adapter

As in title. I have a PAL Sega Megadrive II, and no power cable. Will the power cable from my PAL Super Nintendo fit, and work? I only ask because my SNES is not in the same place I am, and I cannot check...

For reference, I have a NES adapter, which doesn't work (does not seem to fit). I assumed that the Super Nintendo would use the same adapter, but I thought it would be worth checking.

It fits into my model 1 and the power light comes on but it doesn't work right, the picture is like a bad video output connection with it just being black with scan lines in the middle.

The SNES seems to be 9v 1.3a and the MD is 10v 1.2a.
