I have a 22" Samsung Syncmaster 226BW monitor which I use at work. But I'm considering taking it home and using it for my PS3. I don't get exclusive use of my home TV enough and want to ensure that GTAIV has my complete, uninterrupted attention when it's released late next month :D

Anyway, I think a HDMI to DVI cable should do the trick as I'm fairly certain my monitor is HDCP compliant. Can I use the audio from the standard composite cable which comes with the PS3 and connect the red and white to my hifi though - will this work alongside the HDMI to provide sound?

excellent, cheers. The native resolution for this monitor is 1680 x 1050, do you think it will run at 1080p? Also, it's 16:10 not 16:9, so would this cause any problems?

excellent, cheers for your help on this guys.

Another option I'm considering is to use a SlingBox and sling my PS3 picture and sound to my laptop - don't suppose anyone can see if there would e any problems doing this either?

Got it hooked up and it looks great. Will only do 720p though but that's enough for me.

Been playing GT5p and the picture actually looks better than my 32" Sammy
