as subject im considering setting up a spare pc as a router with wireless.
any of you done this?
advantages for me would include using it as a download / encoding box / etc
planning on using a sff box and a laptop drive and low noise or undervolted fans for silence.
while ive use ics and other forms of internet sharing before the only time i did so with wireless was by ad-hoc and the performance was poor.
instead of the 54mbs it reverted to 10 is there any way to get round this? also is it possible to boost the signal strength as with some modded firmwares for proper routers?
