hey guys i have just seen posted in a forum a guy using an ATi and Nvidia card in there system is it possible to run an ATi card for primary graphics and use a Nvidia card just for physX and cuda?

so it is possible cool erm how much of a performance increase would it be? would it be worth the 100£ for a 9800gtx? or shud i just use my spare 8800GT but no cuda

your spare 8800GT will do cuda, and it's all that's needed for physx.

I used to use a 9500GT next to a HD4870 for physx in games like Mirror's Edge, which worked great.

The 9800 would be a waste of money, and wouldn't give you any performance benefits in games over the 880GT.

If you look for threads started by me in this subforum, you'll find when I first paired the two cards together :)

sweet now to work out where to move my HDDs to fit the 8800GT in the 2nd slot of my Ip35, would it matter that that lane is only 4x and would slow the primary down to 8x?

Using the 4x slot doesn't effect the 16x slot on a P35 board, they are hard wired.
