Hi,
Am i going to cause a problem to my zx6r by installing a smaller fuel filter? I got the bike second hand and not sure when it was last changed if atall. I have one i could put on it but it is smaller the the one already in it so am just wondering if it will be ok to put it on. The tank is currently off so its easy to just swap it, but will it be ok?

It will only be a problem if the internal bore of the pipe fittings are smaller than standard. Been there done that.

I run without a filter now. There's filter screens on the ON/RES stalks in the tank.

Friend of mine uses them on his gs550 and gs1000 now and again on the 1000 he has to give it a little tap to prime after the bike has not been running for while but that's due to the position of his piping its a gs1000 chop but if you go for original and lies correctly you will be fine.

As for needing one depends on the source of the tank he uses them because of old tanks but as elvis says there will be a internal one.
