Using a TV as a monitor?

I've looked at a lot of the larger monitors around atm, and they're all really expensive or rubbish TN panels.

What are peoples views on using a tv as a primary monitor?

I currently use my 400GBP 42" Toshiba Regza as my default monitor and must say it works a charm. I think many would diagree with me because it doesnt have the sharpness of a regular monitor. One thing I will say is that you need to place your monitor some distance away - mine is right at the edge of my desk, in fact my desk needs reinforcing because it is tilting. It is especially good if you game a lot.
