I'm looking to buy a usb extension lead to plug my usb wireless adapter in to. I have done a little reading and found out that the signal degrades after 5 meters or is too slow so the adapter just times out.

My question is, if i get a 10m extension lead with a repeater, will that be ok for a wireless adapter or will it still be too slow for an internet connection?

Depends on the USB adaptor I guess. USB length max is 5M due to a timing requirement rather than signal degradation. You can also get USB to cat5 extenders which might also work.

We had to do this at work.

USB 10m repeater with a 5m extension and the dongle. We used TP link.

It worked. It also worked with 2 10m repeaters
