Hi all,

Recently purchased the Edifier active speakers, connected it directly to phone via the jack lead and it works brilliantly!

Just wondered though; If instead of connecting the phone via lead, is there a wifi device I can use instead? Then I could connect my phone to this (via wifi) and steam the music?

Many thanks,

yes there is, i know the bluetooth version is called a blu dac, wifi version is probably called a wifi dac or wi dac.

plenty of them around for all sorts of budgets, maybe even a sonos bridge would work?

theres literally hundreds to choose from, research them on a specific forum or ask someone in richer sounds or seven oaks for help. avforums or head fi may have more info on specific models.

Sorry for delay, thanks for reply.

Just been shopping round for this device and there is something called 'air music' on the bay that is very popular. Problem is (from what I can gather) it does not support app music on android (youtube etc).
When I plug my 3.5mm cable into phone at the moment, everything is herd through speakers which is ideal. Would this not be the case for a wireless steaming device?

Thanks,

Airmusic is the same device as the WiDAC, just without the Crystal Acoustics branding.

I think you need a DLNA compatible app to stream via Wi-Fi.
