USING ALL 4 DIMMS

Hey Guy's,

I am hoping you can help me please?

I have just acquired a Gigabyte Z77x-UD3H Motherboard and intend to use 4 x 4gb sticks of Corsair Vengeance LP memory 1.5 volts.

I have also acquired an Ivy Bridge 3770K CPU which I intend to OC to around 4.5ghz.

A good friend of mine has informed me that by filling all 4 DIMMS with memory specifically this type, I may run in to issues when OC'ing?

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this kind of thing, and is this an issue I am lightly to run in to?

Any advice would be most appreciated, He did recommend the Corsair Vengeance Arctic White as that's only rated at 1.35 volts? Would that be a better choice for my build?

Again, many thanks.

It won't affect your oc,its much better on sandy/ivybridge as the overclocking is done through the CPU multiplierand not the bclk

Hey Guy's,

Many thanks for your responses I guess I will just have to wait and see as I don't want to go and spend more money before at least trying this memory. I have also asked this question on another forum and there too, I have had conflicting answers some say it does not matter others say yes it does LOL!!

I wish I had bough 16gb in a twin stick configuration as opposed to 4 x 4gb sticks!! I can't return them either as technically there is nothing wrong with them. I feel like an idiot!!!

just use them, you'll be fine,if its unstable just add a touch more dram and cpu/vtt

max safe for cpu/vtt is 1.2v but you'll only need around 1.08-1.10v

dram v can be anywhere from 1.5v-1.65v for 16gb of that ram
