Thats the thing, I have no pci slots free.. Ive just disabled usb 2.0 in the bios,, and all my usb devices are working fine, but I need usb2 cos I have 2 external usb harddrives that I use for backing up, on usb 1 the drives will be like a snail.

Think im giving up with my system,, its perfoming worse wit the extra gig,, it was doing superpi in 30secs, now 35secs
. its still at 213x13 but it has a devider of 2/1.66, so the fsb is only in the 180s... anyone want my opty for £100, its not even 2months old?lol

With timings of 2.5-4-4-9 and I think 2cmd, but I will change it to 1 and prob tighten up the timings a bit more..But as you can see the DDR is only 378,, I thought with this cpu the memory would oc??? but its as bad as my fx55 clawhammer with all 4 mem slots used.
AlSo should I enable the H/W MEM REMAP?

To me that looks like an attempt to get over the 3.5GB limitation posed by 32-bit operating systems

yeh, its strange cos that option has only just popped up since I got the opty cpu
Soz about thinking of selling my cpu last night , I was just really hacked off that Ive spent £170 in the last few weeks on my system and the extra gig had downgraded it. I think Ive got it back up to speed now, Its doing superpi in 34secs now, and I was wromg, it was my fx55cpu that can do it in 30secs,, I Think the opty can do it in 32sec with the 2X 1gig sticks in.
But why would my opty run superpi slower then my fx55 if they are both the same speed and cache size??

Could your CPU be limiting the memory speed due to the divider used on your overclock?
More memory increases the demand on the memory controller so with a clocked CPU this could be the cause. Try running the CPU at its stock speed to see if you can run the memory at 200MHz (DDR400).
You might have to strike a balance between the amount of overclock you're using and your memory speed

Your Opteron runs at 2.6GHz stock. This will be a multiplier of 13x with an HTT of 200MHz
Setting the memory speed to DDR400 sets the memory divider to 1:1
At stock speeds with the memory speed set to DDR400 your memory will be running at 200MHz (DDR400)
At 2.78GHz, your HTT speed will be 214MHz assuming that you're still using the standard 13x multiplier
Leaving your memory on the DDR400 setting at this speed will actually be overclocking your memory to 214MHz (1:1 divider). This is DDR428.
Your memory speed is calculated by dividing your CPU clock speed by a set divider (13x for DDR400)
The next standard divider is the DDR333 divider. This divides your CPU clock speed by 16 giving 163MHz (closest value to 166MHz, DDR333) when the CPU is at 2.6GHz
When the CPU is clocked to 2.78GHz, dividing this by 16 (for the DDR333 divider) gives 174MHz, DDR348
The HT frequency isn't dependent on your memory speed. This is the HTT speed (usually 200MHz for a stock system) multiplied by the HT multiplier (usually 4 or 5x depending on chipset). This shouldn't really go over 1GHz so at an HTT speed of 214MHz I'd set it to 4x giving an HT speed of 856MHz

How does that all look to you guys? The mem is now running at 366mhz.
Can I make the "dram idle timer" and the "bank cycle time" any better???, cos Im not sure about those 2. As you can see Ive made the others as low as poss. I could change the 7 to a 6 but it doesnt do anything for super pi. The mem is now running at 333mhz.
