I've searched this forum and found a few threads about this issue but also some conflicting information. Can someone please clarify the use of a US PS3 in the UK?

1. is the system itself compatible on our 240v and tv sets? Will it simply work with a UK power lead?
2. what is the compatibilty of games, DVD's and Blu Ray?

Thanks in advance :)

The PS3 has a universal power supply. If your TV is newer than about 3 years old, you'll be all right with a standard definition NTSC TV signal. If you're using HD, then it will work perfectly.

You would only be able to play NTSC PS1 and PS2 games, Region 1 DVDs and Region A Blu-ray Discs.

So using an HDMI cable should be no problem? Am I right that most Blu-Ray DVD's are ALL regions too?

...this is when the conflicting information starts. I could do with a definitive correct answer from somebody who has a US PS3 :)

Re-read my post above regarding Blu-ray film Discs. All PS3 games will play on all PS3 consoles. Depending on where you bought the game may affect to which specific online game servers you will connect to in games which have regional multiplayer servers. e.g. if you bought a US copy of MotorStorm, the game will play fine but you will connect to US servers when you play multiplayer.
