Hey all,

I've just recently upgraded my Motherboard and Processor.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
X570 AORUS Elite

32Gb 3200 DDR4 RAM
Aorus 1080Ti

I'm currently rocking a Seasonic S12II 620W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply purchased from OCUK from 2016! Someone has given them their OG Corsair HX1000i PSU in fantastic condition, Despite it's age - it's had little use. Is it worth swapping this out? Would anyone be concerned given the age of this PSU?

My current Seasonic underload gets quite loud when playing Doom Eternal.

Thoughts?

Edit - Just seen the "How long do you run a Power Supply for" thread. Quite a few people in their running old PSUs! I guess we should be good then! :D

I would take the Corsair over the Seasonic anyday. The S12II range were a outdated design when they launched let alone now. I would'nt say it's a poor quality psu but it's mediocre at best and the Corsair is leagues ahead of it in terms of quality. Exactly how old is the Corsair though?

No idea, but I'm assuming it's a year or so older than the S12!

Thanks for your replies! I'll get it swapped over.

The Corsair is much more suited to a modern system and was a premium PSU @ launch, worth more than double.

This is based on the S12II:

This I assume is your Corsair PSU:

That's exactly it. It's just swapped it over and forgot how budget the S12 II feels when I pulled it out!
