Using an old router as a wireless adaptor

I have a sky box, using a cable is not an option, so I was to plug an old Netgear router I have into it and have it connect to the Sky router, is this possible?

If so, how can I do it?

I've done it in the past with 2 Netgear routers and it worked without 3rd party firmware, I'd like to do it without third party firmware this time, I can't remember how I did it as it was ages ago and CyberMav who I don't believe is on here anymore helped me.

I doubt you'll get it working. The last time I looked at a Sky router it just didn't have the necessary options.

I'd suggest that you look at using Powerline adapters, or Sky's own On Demand Connector (which you may even qualify to get FOC).
