Hi,
Pondering on setting up a HTPC to my Panasonic Plasma for my bedroom upstairs. TV is on the otherside of my bedroom, so I'll need to use HDMI over CAT6 extenders. .
Currently plugging in my 24" Dell U2410 via DVI, for everyday use.
Current card is a 5770 x-fired.
What will happen if i leave an HDMI cable as well as the DVI cable permanently plugged into the pc. DVI going to my U2410, and HDMI going to the plasma, via extenders.
Do you reckon it'll be smart enough, to auto switch between DVI and HDMI, if I go into the HDMI input on the TV, then go back automatically when I switch away from that input on the TV, for when I'm not needing to watch a movie or whatever on the big screen?
Not sure if possible.. I guess I need to try, but interested to hear on others experience of trying to do the same.
I know I can do it with a laptop which switches back and forth, from its LCD to the HDMI. But not sure of the outcome on the 5770 VaporX x-fired would be.
