Using BT Home Hub 2.0 as wireless broadcaster?

I have a sealed BT Homehub router and wan't to use it to effectively boost the signal strength in my room if that is possible. I have lan over mains down to my room from our belkin router but the signal strength of the wifi is very low (which I use for my iPod touch). I have a spare BT homehub and am wondering before I open it if it would be possible to connect the homehub to my netgear lan over mains box via ethernet and for the router to broadcast wifi using the ethernet connection as its source of the internet (if that makes sense).

Sorry if this is a really basic question, I am not very advanced when it comes to networking
