Using ceiling speakers for fronts and center for a atmos setup

Can you still acheive a good cinema experience using in ceiling speakers for the fronts and center channels?

I am looking to install my projector setup in my new loft and thinking doing this will keep the mrs happy!.

I can use surrrounds on the side walls, but the issue is the projector screen being middle of the room and would block the sound coming through.

Any advice would be appreciated!

How about an acoustically transparent screen that will not block the sound from the speakers behind it?
