Hi,

So I have to RMA a corsair HX850 power supply. I was hoping to just use the existing modular cables with a spare OCZ power supply. But it doesn't seem to work? The motherboard and CPU cable are fixed to the power supply then I have 4x 6pin modular connectors plugged in. The motherboard turns on but no fans or anything else works.

What are your system specs?

Where you overcloked at all, I assume any external GPU'S are powered. My only concern is the Corsair may be wired slightly different to the OCZ.

One thing you could try doing a CMOS reset.

The OCZ will be safe to use but with its own cables, BuToNz has confirmed my issues with using other manufacturers modular cables.

Yep, my hx 850 modular cables are keyed quite differently from my antec true power modular units ones.

Ok thanks, hopefully no damage was done trying them. Will have to try finding the OCZ ones.

Assuming you've just used the GPU connectors, you could have sent +12v down a ground and done serious damage.

Only +12v and ground pins go to the GPU's.
