From what I've seen on here, a few people have had problems with running the Netgear DG834GT as a modem and bridging it across to an ethernet router such as the WRT54GL.

I've just bought a GT and I'm sorely tempted to play with a WRT54GL once I've got the GT working properly.

I'll be running the latest DGTeam firmware on the GT and Tomato on the WRT54GL btw.

(additional quick questions: How easy is it to replace the aerials on the WRT54GL?)

I changed my DG834GT to be in bridge mode this weekend, as I bought a Belkin N1 vision that I wanted to use instead. Working perfectly so far and I'm actually getting faster speeds that I did before.

Did you have any problems getting it to pass the WAN IP to the Belkin N1?

What firmware are you using on your GT?

Thanks for the input :)

No problems at all. I simply set it to bridge mode and that was it. There was no other options on the GT other than Bridge mode/Router mode (this was when i went to that hidden mode.htm page). The N1 picked up the connection instantly and used the IP address instantly.

Not sure what the firmware version is, but its probably very out of date as I've not done it in a while. Ill have a check when I get home.
