Hey,

I picked up a cheap i7 4790K PC today to upgrade my old Dell Optiplex budget build, I also picked up a new motherboard to allow me to overclock the build.

The new PC came with 16GB (2x8) of Hyper X fury DDR3 1600mhz ram, I am running 16GB (2x8) of Corsair Vengeance pro DDR3 1600mhz.

I know it would run OK if I just put them in and left things alone but would I be able to overclock them? (I've never overclocked RAM so this would be new for me but I'll take my time and follow guides)

Also, if overclocking would be an issue would I be better off with 16GB of overclocked ram or 32GB or stock ram?

edit: obviously having 32GB of overclocked ram would be ideal hence why I asked if its possible.

Hope that makes sense.

If the motherboard allows you to overclock the CPU it will allow memory overclocking as well. On Intel memory overclock gives little total performance gains, definetely use all 32GBs.
