Using dual monitors

Not sure where's best to put this so i'll start here!

I just bought a little 15" dell monitor to use as a secondary monitor. My aim was whilst in games etc i could still see skype/emails/music etc.

However when i'm in game, TF2 for example, if i click on anything on the secondary monitor (e.g. to chat in skype) it reduces TF2 and i'm left with the desktop on my main monitor. This is not what i wanted as alt tabbing out of TF2 sometimes causes it to crash.

Am i doing something wrong? Or will this always happen?

It will always happen, unless you run the game in a window.

Unless of course there is a utility somewhere that sorts it out . . . .

Fullscreen window is your only option.

I don't think TF2 does windowed Borderless unfortunately, L4D2 / Portal 2 do, and that's what I use.
