card is a leadtek extreme gt7800, using the 81.98 drivers, stock speeds
anyone heard of this before
i can just turn them off and it's ok, but surely i should be able to have them full all the time if i want

Funny you shoud mention this, I have a 6800LE unlocked, and was getting lock ups with java, I never thought about the AA settings etc and yes they where set to on not auto, I then took Sun Java off and reinstalled same time as new drivers, and have left the AA settings to Auto, had no lock up since.

it worked for a while with aa + af set to full
but i'm 100 percent sure it's the AA + AF now as the pc will freeze (well what actually happens is the java app is just grey, then when i close it the pc freezes a few seconds later), now if i set AA + AF to full the java apps are grey (cant click buttons etc) then the pc freezes, when i restart if i turn off the AA + AF it's fine#
weird

is there any way to set profiles for games, like you can do for control pads, so i can set the aa + af to full when playing games but off when in windows
i'm sure there is but cant see how ?

Yeah its in Nvidia control panel under performance and quality settings there is a button marked add profile, you can set everything up from in there.
