Hi all

I'm wondering if someone can help me.

I have registered a domain name (with 123-reg) (though at the moment I don't have any hosting or a website - this will come in the next couple of months...possibly via TSO host) and would like to set up a google mail account to use for my email, sending and receiving from my own domain address using outlook express and being able to use the webmail too (and push forwarding to my android phone whenI finally get it)

Ideally I would like 2 addresses to be received, [email protected] and [email protected] and to send from [email protected].

My girlfriend has a domain and email set up in this way (though she also has a web host and web site), which was set up by a chap who offered the hosting for free, so I have no idea how to do it.

Can I set up my email in this way without having any webhosting? (I've seen mention of having to up load a test file or something so google can verify you or something like that) if so, can anyone guide me through it step by step or point me in the direction of a simple guide, having googled I've come across loads of different things and I'm not sure which is the right way to do it?

Many many thanks for any help anyone can give me

Is that done with forwarding, or via the MX records and then googles servers etc?

My girlfriends setup uses googles servers and alolows adding new users etc etc, which is what I want for mine too.

I'm currently waiting for googleapps to be able to verify my domain, having added a TXT DNS entry.

I did this at about 9pm Friday and it googleapps is still unable to verify. Does this sound right, can DNS changes take this long to propagate or is it likely I've done something wrong?

I can't use the html method to verify as I don't have any webspace to upload a file.
