Trying to set up some wireless headphones (Sennheiser RS170 ) on a Samsung LCD TV that doesn't seem to have a headphone output (a common problem apparently).

Any ideas on a workaround for this?

The open alternative ports include an Ext(RGB) SCART input/output, a couple of USB ports, and a Digital Audio Out (Optical).

I'm hoping that there might be a simple amplifier that takes the digital audio out and has a headphone socket... Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

google headphone amp/dac.

You will find many dac/amp combos with spdif in and headphone out.

I believe nuforce make a good one. NuForce Icon HDP is around £300.

Thats probably bit too expensive for what your looking for.

Does the tv have any rca outputs? Two of the three rgb outputs could be connected to a much cheaper headphone amp with 3.5 mm output. Something like a Music Fidelity Vamp.

The model number is: Samsung UE32B7000 LED

There are no 'RCA in' that I can make out. The only viable output options seem to be the digital audio optical and the in/out Ext(RGB).

I'm not look to spend much at all on this - it's just headphone jack! It seems ridiculous to a)deliver a TV without a headphone jack, and b) no be able to build simple converter for the digital audio out socket...

I'd add that a cheap pair of speakers (with headphone socket) that connected to the digital audio out would probably also do the trick).

Thanks.
