Using Hifi With Tv

Hi

Im trying to use my hifi with my tv, so that it plays sound from tv + hifi for tv games etc etc.

I have a lead, which has a scart connector on one end, with the Red / White audio cable on the other.

I used to use this with my own tv ages ago, which worked fine plugged directly into a scart socket on the tv. It would play the tv stuff or any consoles i played.

However, connecting it up to my downstairs tv this way, it only plays sound from 1, 2, 3, 4 etc and not scart channels. So i end up with my game playing through the tv and the last tv channel playing through my hifi.

How can i sort this?

I'm not sure you can sort this problem out tbh, it depends on your TV. Not all of them will route incoming audio back out through scart. What's the make/model? My old TV could, but you needed to tweak the audio settings to do so.

Another option might be to connect the TV to your HiFi with RCA cables (if your TV has those outputs) or perhaps via a headphone jack adaptor.

i actually fixed it quite easily lol.

i only tried 2/3 scart sockets. I eventually tried the third and it worked fine
