Using Lion Server for a Home Server

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of the above? Have a Mac Mini I'm thinking of repurposing as a server connected to a Drobo for storage. Main purpose would be to serve media (music, photos, movies) to an ATV2, and other Mac's in the house, and also the usual file sharing and (Time Machine?) backup.

Will this work?

That works fine, you can even use Time Machine to backup the files of any other Mac you have. Honestly I wouldn't use Dropbox as a storage application, instead buy a big (external) hard drive to store data.

You had me worried then - I said Drobo, not Dropbox in my OP. Will I be OK?

How does the streaming work with the ATV and other Macs?

Plex wouldn't work for me as I get all of my media through the iTunes Store. Is the iTunes Home Sharing from server to ATV seamless?
