I used the Media Creation Tool to download an ISO so I could upgrade several PCs easily - as per the suggestion on the Microsoft website.

However, I have tried it on two different installs so far, and after I run setup from the CD created from ISO it asks if I want to download updates, then requests a license key.
At this stage, I have no Windows 10 key to enter obviously, and there is no skip option.
I did try a Windows 7 key and that didn't work.

However, I am reading elsewhere that when running the Setup I should get an upgrade option, and then an option to skip the license key part.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I am aware the Media Creation Tool does offer an Upgrade option itself but all this does is pulls the upgrade files down each time separately for each PC.

Try using one of the generic keys to get your download of the ISO going
Windows 10 Home - YTMG3-N6DKC-DKB77-7M9GH-8HVX7
Windows 10 Home SL- BT79Q-G7N6G-PGBYW-4YWX6-6F4BT
Windows 10 Pro - VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
Windows 10 Pro VL-MAK - QJNXR-7D97Q-K7WH4-RYWQ8-6MT6Y

what I did with mine was I extracted the ISO file in to a folder and ran the setup.exe, this upgraded my system to W10 without asking for keys etc

Thanks for the help both.
I'll keep a note of those keys, but found the problem.

I'd downloaded the wrong ISO version :o

I thought I needed the 'N' version, but I didn't.
Downloaded and machine upgraded as it should have done with no request for license key.

I'm using this tool at the moment and just read about 'N' version being the same but without the default apps such as camera, media player and skype, etc. I would have made the same mistake ajf, just remember to keep your ISO/USB as the Create a recovery drive option once your in Windows 10 seems to be failing for some users (including myself), without any sign of fix coming from MS at this time.
