Hi Guys - I have the ASUS Maximus IX Hero which has a powerful array of fan headers including watercooling support. I current have 3 fans powering my 120.3 and 2 fans powering my 120.2. The fans are the GentleTyphoon 120mm Silent Case Fan Series 1450. According to this page their draw is .049 amps.

According to this review of the mobo I have 1 high amp header which might be capable of powering all three fans.

The high amp fan header can cope with up to 3A for a PWM fan and 1A if you attach a DC fan. On a similar note, the water pump header is rated for up to 3A which makes it suitable for custom loop cooling hardware. If you own a closed-loop-cooler, the AIO_Pump header will be a great option at 1A.

The only issue is the comment regarding the DC rating. I don't think my fans are PWM rating meaning the 1A will not be sufficient. Can anyone confirm?

Asus has some pretty good functionality for controlling fans and pumps so I wanted to check if I can leverage this without having to buy a fan controller.
