Hi guys

Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm wondering if I could plug a HDMI into my PC and play games on my 55" TV?

Physically I know I could connect my PC to my TV of course but would it be worthwhile?

Currently replaying Fallout NV for instance, not the most challenging games visually and I do have quite a decent system, (see sig).

Would the text be readable etc?

Would be nice to sit on my sofa with wireless keyboard and mouse sometimes.

Well I'll be hooking up my rig to my 50" TV that's coming tomorrow. At the moment I use a 37" for PC gaming which has been fine.

I set the font size to medium in control panel and I just use zoom on the keyboard when browsing. I pull the sofa up to the TV so I sit about 1.5m away but with my new TV I reckon I won't have to move the sofa.

It's the only way I play games to be honest, and yes Fallout NV would be fine, I played it through on my a few years ago.

What resolution is the TV? 1080p?

I've been gaming on various Plasma's and LED's for years now.

First plasma was a 50" 1366x768, then upgraded to a 55" 1080p Plasma and now am using a 3860x2160 (UHD/4k) Panny LED.

I use an Xbox 360 wireless controller pad instead of a mouse and keyboard though. Steam has a 'Big picture' mode designed with controllers and TV's in mind.

I've used my living room 50" panny plasma to play games like battlefield and it was fine.

I recently swapped my permanent monitor to a 42" Sony KDL-42W705B and am very happy with it (sat maybe half a meter away). My primary use is games though and I don't use it for a workstation for hours on end. It feels right in terms of size. I'm glad I didn't go bigger at my viewing distance though

I've done it but I went back to gaming with a gaming monitor simply because they are built from the ground up for gaming. TV's aren't.

The TV's I have owned and do own are some of the best for gaming as well. But nothing comes close to a gaming monitor running 120-144hz with next to zero input lag if your into competitive fps.

I downgraded from a 50" top of the range tv to a 24" monitor at christmas and now the TV is for movies/tv only.
