Would it be an accurate guess to assume I would lose the ability to surf which is paid for by my contract on O2?
Perhaps somebody could tell me how much to expext from the sale of a iphone 3g in immaculate condition whilst reading and answering this post? Thank you.

Surfing should be fine on the Curve (as long as the settings are amended) but all the Blackberry features would not work such as push e-mail, messenger, etc.

Prices will vary depending what size ... I would take it to a second hand store down the high street and sell it there. The last time I checked for a 16Gb it was in the region of £250 I believe.

If you want do what i did, i rang o2 and explained i bought a blackberry and asked to be switched to a blackberry contract as it was the same price as my iphone o2 contract.

They switched it over and im with a blackberry curve now, with push email, blackberry messenger and so on.

I see but I only have 3 months of my Iphone contract remaining and do not wish to take up another contract when I only use less than 40 minutes a month. I'll try to get a second hand 8900 and put an Orange £5.00 a month sim in it for 50 minutes of calls a month.

Sorry i think you misunderstood, it does not give you a new contract, it just changes your exisiting contract from an Iphone bolt on to a Blackberry bolt on at no extra cost and on your original contract length.

So if you did ring up and ask, they'd switch you to a BB bolt on and remove your iphone one and also you'd still only have 3 months left on your contract. Just make sure you let them know that you want to switch but not extend your contract and everything should be fine.

You can get 6 months free Blackberry if you ask for it with Orange CS.

Hi, what settings would those be?

Hi, what settings would those be?

You would need the O2 APN or any other network you might be with...best ringing them up and asking them but as said earlier you wont get the full Blackberry features ie push email and blackberry messaging.

Aye I've got it working now, I don't need those anyway really, just needed to get online with it :)

Thanks.
