Using my tv as a monitor

Hi,

Dunno if I am being stupid here, but what do I need to be able to use my TV as a monitor for my computer?
depend what ports are on the back of the tv but usually either a vga cable (if you graphics card is aslo vga u will have t o get a dvi to vga dongle) or a dvi cable or if it has neither of these then a scart to s-video cable

Mine works fine, its a 32in Phillips CRT running on a 10m composite video cable, needed a bit of tweaking in Catalyst drivers though

Its a little sony widescreen tv, think its about 15 inches. I was just trying to find out if there was a way to do that cheaply so I didn't have to lug a 17" monitor all the way from chester to london on the train :p

Nm though we dug out some crappy trolley type thing to attach it to, so aside from looking a bit of an idiot it should be quite easy now.

i strongly advise against it. its very bad for your eyes unless its a hd tv :)

I have MCE PC plugged in to my TV at the moment and it's fine for the media interface, but desktop is evil on a CRT TV.
