Sorry if this is basic stuff I should know but looking for a bit of help here. My Mobile Fu is not strong... 
Currently have an old Samsung A20e with an O2 (formerly Virgin) PAYM sim card, paying around £15 a month.
Having just bought the wife a new A25 at Tesco with Tesco Mobile, fancied changing up to one of those myself as my eyes and fingers would appreciate the slightly larger screen.
However logging into my O2 account they want an outrageous amount for the phone and contract which, with Clubcard discount, came in at under £300 at Tesco for the phone element itself. Even buying without a contract, the phone is only £300.
The $64k question then being, if I extract the sim card from my old phone and put it in the new will it work without any issue or will I need to get the phone form Tesco unlocked?
