Hi All, I have recently bought tp link 8960n extracted sky password from sky sagem entered in new router, i am connected to internet but speeds of only 1-2 mbps rather than my usual speeds of 12mbps. I have retained the tp link ip of 192.168.1.1 rather than use skys 192.168.0.1, can you advise if I need to alter any further settings??

nope - should be fine - you sure about the speeds? post up the router stats if you can. I use my billion router with sky and get the same, if not slightly faster than with sky's own router

Hi, here are my wireless info from the router: Hopefully this is what you required?
Channel: Auto
Mode: 11bgn
Bandwidth: 20MHz
Fragmentation Threshold: 2346
RTS Threshold: 2347
DTIM Interval: 1
Beacon Interval: 100

You need to post the modem stats not the wireless stats.

The stats you need will describe your ADSL sync speed, signal to noise margin and line attenuation.

Ok, here are the figures, i did a speedtest via OOKLA at the time it gave speed of 0.25 mbps, as soon as i switch back to my sagem router i get 12mbps!!

Line Coding(Trellis): On On
SNR Margin (0.1 dB): Downstream 60 Upstream 52
Attenuation (0.1 dB): Downstream 340 Upstream 190
Output Power (0.1 dBm): Downstream 191 Upstream 120
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 16,756 1,204
Rate (Kbps): Downstream 15333 Upstream 1304

So according to that you're getting 15.3 megabits downstream and 1304 upstream which isn't bad at all. It looks as if you have a wireless issue rather than a connection issue. Get a hold of insider or some other Wi-Fi analyser and check for a clear channel.

Interesting that i obtained my stats from the sagem router. I am using the same connections for both boxes just swap them over, I cannot understand why the difference in speeds????

SNR Margin (0.1 dB): Downstream 6.1 Upstream 5.1
Attenuation (0.1 dB): Downstream 32.5 Upstream 18.8
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 17167 1,166
Rate (Kbps): Downstream 15487 Upstream 1274
