Thought's just occurred to me. Don't really know if it's possible.

I have a 7.1 Creative set of speakers, bought them about 3 years ago. Wondering if there's a way to hook them to the LCD or consoles in my front room

I have 5.1 surround sound pc speakers connected to my 360. The VGA cable has a seperate red/white audio connections which go into the back of the bass unit thing.

I have 7.1 speakers too. I also have just bought a vga cable so I can hook up my xbox to my monitor (but waiting for it to arrive).
Not sure if it will work but if you get a converter to change the left and right signals to a 3.5mm jack and plug that into the input hole on the volume and bass volume controller its possible it could work.
I did a little experiment with some earphones by plugging them in and speaking into them and I was getting sound so it should in theory work. Give it a go and let me know the results! :D

Wont be proper surround sound.

All your doing is sending a stereo signal into 5.1/7.1 speakers. Creative speakers are only for PC soundcards which do the decoding.

If you want proper surround sound with your console , you need an AV receiver which conects to your console via an optical cable.

e.g. Yamaha £120

I've got it connected to my PS3.
