Using PC to host a wifi network

I'm currently in halls of residence at university, and we get supplied a hard wired internet connection.

Would I be able to host a wifi network for my phone and tablet using something like this on windows 7?

Yep, use this http://www.connectify.me/

I'm not sure if you'll get it trouble for doing so, but it worked well last time I used it.

I'm going to continently ignore some of the rules on internet usage

Its mainly just so I can browse on my tablet in bed.

I had the same issue - used a pc to start but then found a d-link cable router which did exactly the same, quietly, for £25. If its a network you have to log onto via a web page, once you have logged on once, then click the clone mac button in the menu, then the provider just sees the router as the laptop, and everything else connects through it - easy!
