Using [PCIe 2.0 x16] slots for NON graphics cards

Hi

Can you use PCIe 2.0 x16 slots for NON graphics cards
i.e. could i put a PCIe TV card or PCIe SATA controller card in it?

If you have a SLI/crossfire board, would putting a TV card in the second slot change both lanes to 8x instead of one on 16x or similar, or would the correct gfx lane stay at 16x and the other go to 1x or 4x etc?

Indeed, I've got my X-Fi Titanium in my 2nd Graphics Slot works fine also.

Nope, in mine the GTX260 and the 8800GTS both run at 16x and the TV card i assume runs at 1x
