Using PfSense as modem/connecting to FTTP/ONT

I thought pfsense is same as opnsense ?

edit. maybe not
Honestly, pfsense make me cringe, the hate campaign was actually across multiple platforms, they also registered r/opensense and pulled similar crap. Just when you think that was a while ago and perhaps they grew as a business and stopped being utterly contemptful, no, they cocked up the communication on AES-NI requirements and then made an absolute mess of the wireguard situation by hiring a convicted bail jumping racist felon to push out an abomination which they mainlined and blamed the origin dev when he stepped in to fix it (for free) after being ignored previously. Oh and this was at the same time they were telling you they were safe hands to go closed source your security with TSNR.

Honest question for anyone who continues to use Netgate products, how many times do they have to prove that the leadership are unfit and make horrible choices before you choose to use something else?
