Using Pine outside?

HI Guys and Gals.

To Finish off some Decking Im looking to use some internal stair spindles and base/hand rails. These are made of pine. Im basically looking to save some wonga! I have some liberon decking oil and im wondering if i coat the pine in this, will this give any protection against our wet weather?

Or just save up some more pennies and get the pressure treated stuff?

It will be fine but you'll be re treating it twice a year and you won't know it's become rotten till it's too late.

Using pressure treated timber will save you money in the long term, due to it's longer lifespan,plus you have the cost of the Liberon decking oil around £17 a tin & you won't be retreating the wood every 6 months.
