Using plant feed caused my plant to die

I am not a plant person, but I have had a particular Japanese Peace Lily potted plant in my flat for over 7 years.

I was recently advised that I should give it some plant feed, something I had never done before. I purchased a bottle of Bayer's BabyBio to use. Whilst I understand that BabyBio is for actively growing plants, and not fully grown ones like mine, I thought that the feed could not hurt. I followed the instructions so the first time, I added 4-5 drops to 250ml of water before watering the plant. I didn't notice much difference afterwards. A few days later that week, when I went to water the plant again, I did the same. After a couple of days, all the leaves in my plant had started to droop. They are now still doing the same and I fear that the plant may be dying with no means to bring it back to life.

Where have I gone wrong? I really did not thing using that product could cause it to die, maybe have no effect at worst!

Is there anything I can do to resuscitate it?

It is inside indeed and i usually water twice a week; certainly no more than 1/2 litre a week.

I might have added many drops, but it was no more than the instructions and I tried to get rid of as much water in the pot as possible. Might run some more today. Thanks.

always start with 1/4 or 1/2 the recommended dose not all plants are heavy feeders.

do not feed them plant food every time either unless its something geedy like tomatoes

Thanks for the advice. Ran some water through the soil for now. Also got some new potting mix so if it doesn't perk up within the next couple of days I'll repot it with the mix and pruning a few of the roots.

I certainly haven't inherited green fingers from my dad who is a decent gardener.
