I would format the drive and then reinstall windows... so can I use recuva to gain access to those files?? after I reinstalled windows? Please clarify.. After reinstalling windows I would then install recuva first to find the files...

The cd they installed has corrupted key windows files, so when I installed recuva the laptop was having none of it... I tried to run windows repair but needed an admin password which I dont have.. so the only solution I can see is to reinstall windows then run recuva.. if you have any better ideas - i am all ears
