Hi,

If I format a hdd can I then use recuva to gain access to files I previous deleted?

I.e. word, jpg files?

pls advise

cheers

sorry i dont quite understand what you mean...

currently their is info on drive (that is important but I cannot access), windows is a mess..

I would format the drive and then reinstall windows...

so can I use recuva to gain access to those files?? after I reinstalled windows?

Please clarify..

After reinstalling windows I would then install recuva first to find the files...

I cant access the files because I cannot enter the user account...

basically someone put a cd into drive and now if i install a program it will not install properly , error msg - registry errors...

The cd they installed has corrupted key windows files, so when I installed recuva the laptop was having none of it...

I tried to run windows repair but needed an admin password which I dont have..

so the only solution I can see is to reinstall windows then run recuva..

if you have any better ideas - i am all ears :)

its a toshiba satellite s1800 series laptop btw

anyhow ive taken the hdd drive, where can I get a hdd enclosure so I can attach an IDE cable to it to remove the files I need?

Are they expensive? How do I know which one to get?

Please help

Thanks for all your help so far...

Cheers!
