I'll be building a machine using an wooden frame, instead of a normal case and totally forgot that I would need standoffs, as they usually come with the case.

1 - So can I use some normal screws to secure the board to the wood?
I read somewhere that the board check for some contact through the standoffs and if they are not present it does not start

2 - If not where would you suggest I purchase some, but not online as I need them quick. Maybe call some computer repair shops near me and beg :D I only need 5. Anyone in London willing to give me some for free? I'll come to your house if you are anywhere NW2 :)

The mobo is GA-770T-D3L

Thank you.

I found what I need in a well known high street electronics specialist shop, which I'm not sure if I can name as it might be against the rules:

Motherboard Screwnut Standoff x 50 = £2.99
That's even cheaper than ebay :)
