Have a fair few spare routers kicking around and was wonderng how easy/possible it would be to set one up as a wireless bridge?

Routers available:
O2 wireless box 3 and 4
Linksys WAG200G
Netgear DG834G

I hope it's obviously what i'm meaning. Basically plug several non-wireless devices into a router upstairs and have it do the wireless connection to the downstairs router.
What's my chances?

I don't mind having to go through unlocking a router and talking to it via telnet if the steps are fairly well laid out :)

I'm guessing you don't want a physical connection between the two? That's what i have done here and it works very well.

This basicly.....

But if you wanted it the other way i think If you take a look in the Netgear i'm sure that does bridging wireless in the advanced Wireless part towards the bottom of the left hand menu.

Correct, no physical connection. I've been using powerline adapters but for whatever reason they don't like my new house at all.
On infinity, the laptop is fine but the desktop only pulls around 12Mbps with powerline adapters specced for 85Mbps. Thought i'd try using bits of kit i've got before I start buying any bits to sort it.

While usually, of course, cable wins there's 3 floors between me and the router and the girlfriend and another female housemate to object to cabling. I've started to prefer it a bit tidier too.

Going to try an alternative (newer) set of powerline adapters as mine are a good 5 years old now and see if they are up to the job.
