Using rubber washers to reduce fan noise

Has anyone tried this and had success?

Specifically referring to radiator fans as I am about to have 8 (arctic cooling F12 @ 900rpm) in total.

Planning to have:

Screw head, washer, fan, washer, rad, washer, fan, washer, case, screw head.

Washers are 1.6mm thick.

The best way is to use grommets with a center hole just a little bigger than mounting screw. This requires oversizing the case mounting holes to accommodate the grommets and do not tighten the screws too tight or vibrations will pass threw the grommets.
