i have transferred over my 24.6" Hanns-G to my uni rig and im surrently using my Samsung 32" series 4 over HDMI, im having the following problems:

1) the screen just generally isnt as sharp even though it is 1080p

2) the colours look washed out

3) the image doesnt reach the edge of the tv and the overscan isnt accurate enough on CCC

Ive used my samsung 37" LCD tv as a monitor before, its no where near as sharp as my normal monitor, and the resolution was rubbish, 1300 x something

it is plugged in over HDMI, running at 1080p

if you use the vga cable, it only goes up 754x or something :p

ANYWAY, i went into settings:

1) made sharness ~30

2) changed picture settings to "just scan" from 16:9

3) went into CCC and changed overscan to 0%

4) went to "edit name" and went from HDMI 1 -> PC :)

it looks a lot better, but still blurry at close viewing
